Trisha is a resident dancer of SAPAN and is thrilled she is still dancing and performing a hobby and passion 18 years after her very step onto a stage. As a child, Trisha participated in annual Mahavir Jayanti showcases and later competed across the U.S. and Canada through FOGANA (Federation of Gujratis Across North America) garba/raas competitions. She is also classically trained in Bharat Natyam under the tutelage of Dr. Arti Datta of Mudra Dance Studio and performed her Arangetram in June of 2007. During her undergraduate career at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Trisha majored in Political Science and Communication. She also joined Penn Masti, a co-ed South Asian fusion dance team. Throughout her 4-year involvement with Masti, Trisha brought together different global dance styles through unique fusion choreography and also led the team as President, Show Chair, and Outreach Chair. Trisha is currently teaching middle school Spanish in the District. Trisha's favorite part about dancing is having creative fun with a group of passionate friends who love performing as much as she does. Trisha is known for some pretty awesome/awful signature moves - just ask her to show you "the peacock."
