Ramya is a resident musician with SAPAN. She comes from a family that is very heavily involved in promoting Indian Classical Arts in the Bay Area (California), Chennai and Cleveland! Growing up, she was trained in Carnatic Music by Smt. Sangeetha Swaminathan, and later by Smt. Anuradha Sridhar. Her love for singing also pushed her to learn Hindustani music for a short while, under Smt. Shubhangi Sakhalkar. Ramya also learned Bharatanatyam under Smt. Indumathy Ganesh and completed her Arangetram in May 2005. Having recently moved to Washington D.C., she is thrilled to have found a creative outlet and avenue to continue learning and growing in music alongside other passionate musicians! In her free time, you'll find Ramya either buried in a book, or baking something delicious while dancing and belting out Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey power ballads!
