Ramya Ramachandran
Ramya began dancing at the age of 8, performing Gujarati folk dance competitively around the US through FOGANA. Her passion grew as she became exposed to different styles of dance, including Bollywood, semi-classical, and hip hop. She continued to choreograph and perform at community events in her hometown of Dallas, Texas, and in 2010, she joined Blue Flame Productions, Dallas' premier arts and entertainment company, as a troupe dancer and had the opportunity to perform at a number exciting events, including concerts for A.R. Rahman, Shaan, and Atif Aslam. In college at the University of Texas at Austin, she was a member of the nationally recognized competitive teams Dirty South Dandiya (2011-2012) and Texas Mohini (2012-2013). Ramya rejoined the Blue Flame Elite Dance Troupe in 2013 and continued to grow as a dancer and choreographer during her three years on the team. After graduating college, Ramya moved to Virginia and now works as a Quality Engineer at VT iDirect. She is also a Bollywood dance teacher at the Rhythmaya School of Dance, and looks forward to continuing her dance journey with SAPAN!
