Chirantan Neogy began his career in music at the age of 5, picking up the piano as well as Hindustani Classical and Rabindrasangeet. This background served as a foundation for his high school and college passion – a cappella. Chirantan performed with various groups that sang everything from American pop to Bollywood hits to 14th century European Madrigal music. These experiences culminated in his serving as music director of Chai Town, a South Asian a cappella group at his alma mater – University of Illinois – where he sang, arranged music, recorded studio albums, and toured internationally. He has since become a DC transplant, working at Fannie Mae as a Quantitative Analyst, and spends his time playing chess, visiting new countries, and trying out the various cuisines that the nation’s capital has to offer.
