Bhavna Sivasubramanian is a resident vocalist with SAPAN music. She has been trained in Carnatic music under the tutelage of Smt. Tara Anand since the age of 5, and performed her vocal arangetram in 2009. She has had the privilege of giving various concerts in the Boston area, and spending summers in Chennai attending concerts with her grandparents. In addition to Carnatic music, Bhavna enjoys singing Western style music and was part of her high school’s a cappella group. Bhavna also loves to dance and has been classically trained in Bharatanatyam from Smt. Sridevi Tirumalai, performing her dance arangetram in 2011. Wanting to try something new, she joined her university’s Bhangra team and competed with them for four years -- but is excited to get back into singing with SAPAN! Bhavna graduated Tufts University in 2017 with a Bachelors of Arts in International Relations and Economics and is now working at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). In her free time, Bhavna loves to run, explore local breweries with friends, and travel when the wallet permits.
